Things You'll Need:
- Window tint film
- Tape measure
- Window cleaner
- Squeegee
- Sharp scissors or Exacto knife
- Straightedge or ruler
-
Step 1
Measure your window. Add 1/2-inch to the overall diameter. Cut a sheet of window film tint using these dimensions.
-
Step 2
Spray the window tint film with window cleaner, so that it is moist.
-
Step 3
Starting at the top of the window pane, adhere the dry side of the window tint film to the glass. Leave the excess margin outside of the windowpane.
-
Step 4
Use a ruler to snugly affix the top of the window tint film in a straight line. Press against the glass and just underneath the top of the window's edge with the ruler.
-
Step 5
Continue holding the ruler in one hand. Smooth the remainder of the sheet of window tint film with a squeegee using your other hand. Once the film appears to be staying on the window, you may put the ruler down.
-
Step 6
Continue smoothing the window tint film in a top to bottom motion, removing air bubbles at the same time with the squeegee. Spray the film with a little extra window cleaner if the film becomes difficult to smooth.
-
Step 7
Allow the film to thoroughly dry for about 30 minutes. Use scissors or an Exacto knife to trim excess film from the edges.
