Windows Live Messenger is a free service provided by Microsoft. Messenger is an instant messaging client that is designed to work in Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Mobile. Originally, the service was released as MSN Messenger in 1999, and was renamed to Windows Live Messenger on December 13, 2005. Messenger boasts features such as favorites, groups, photo sharing and a customizable display.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Log in to your Windows Live Messenger account.

  2. Step 2

    Click "Options" at the upper right of the page. The "Options" window will open.

  3. Step 3

    Choose "Your Account" on the left side of the page. The "Your account" page will open.

  4. Step 4

    Select "Password." Enter your current password. Then type your new password twice.

  5. Step 5

    Click the "Continue" button. A window may appear asking to choose a secret question. If this window appears then select a question and supply an answer. Click the "Continue" button.

  6. Step 6

    Select the "Done" button to return to Windows Live Mail.
