List dates that have a special meaning for you. Birth dates, anniversaries or any other memorable date in your life. Separate the numbers within your dates. For example, a date 07/27/1950 could be turned into 7, 27 and 50 for your lottery number choices. Turn the dates you have chosen into six or seven numbers.

Use Numerology to choose your numbers. Numerology is the ancient study of how numbers relate to a person's life. Add the numbers of your birth date to get your prime, or life path, number. If your birth date is 6/12/1950, you would add 6+1+2+1+9+5+0 to get 24, then add 2+4 to get a life path number of six. Your first number for the lottery ticket would be six. Calculate other numbers that will add and reduce out to your prime number. For example; 33 (3+3) will reduce down to six. Continue looking for numbers that will reduce down to your prime number, until you have all the numbers you need to fill your lottery card.

Use numbers that scientists have determined come up most often in the lottery. Omninerd has collected data from the New Jersey Lottery system to determine which numbers came up more frequently in the drawings. LottoRoller will list how many times a number has hit in the last fifty draws. Choose commonly drawn numbers, such as 35, which has been drawn more times than any other, or 32, 10 or 34. All have hit with more frequency. The least chosen number was 49.
