Iced tea is the perfect beverage. Not too sweet, not too tart, not too bubbly ... just right.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Small non-reactive saucepan
  • One gallon pitcher
  • 8 Tea Bags
  • 1/2 cup - 1 cup Sugar
  • Lemon, Orange or Mint if desired
  1. Step 1

Fill a small sauce pan with cold water. Bring to a boil.

  2. Step 2

Remove the pot from the burner and add the tea bags. Depending on how sweet you like your iced tea, add 1/2 cup - 1 cup of sugar. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved. If you do not dissolve the sugar while the liquid is hot you will have rock candy at the bottom of your sauce pan. Let the tea steep at least 1 hour. Longer is better.

  3. Step 3

Pour the mixture into a pitcher while holding the tea bags in the pot. Refill the pot with water over the tea bags several times until the pitcher is almost full. Gently squeeze the remaining liquid from the tea bags and discard.

  4. Step 4

Pour over an ice filled glass. Add a wedge of lemon, orange or sprig of mint. Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • It is better to add the lemon, orange or mint to each glass of iced tea rather than to the entire pitcher. It will turn your iced tea murky.
  • If you prefer herbal teas, choose your favorite flavor and follow the steps above.
