Things You'll Need:
- Small non-reactive saucepan
- One gallon pitcher
- 8 Tea Bags
- 1/2 cup - 1 cup Sugar
- Lemon, Orange or Mint if desired
-
Step 1
Fill a small sauce pan with cold water. Bring to a boil.
-
Step 2
Remove the pot from the burner and add the tea bags. Depending on how sweet you like your iced tea, add 1/2 cup - 1 cup of sugar. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved. If you do not dissolve the sugar while the liquid is hot you will have rock candy at the bottom of your sauce pan. Let the tea steep at least 1 hour. Longer is better.
-
Step 3
Pour the mixture into a pitcher while holding the tea bags in the pot. Refill the pot with water over the tea bags several times until the pitcher is almost full. Gently squeeze the remaining liquid from the tea bags and discard.
-
Step 4
Pour over an ice filled glass. Add a wedge of lemon, orange or sprig of mint. Enjoy!

on 11/27/2009 I love ice tea, but in the winter I usually like to drink hot tea.
