Instructions

Tarps make wonderful slip and slides.

Buy a tarp for homemade slip and slides. If you want extremely long ones, buy several. Use twist ties in the holes of the tarps to hold them together.

    • 2

Lay the tarp out flat in your backyard, or wherever you choose to place it. Make sure there is nothing around it to harm children.

    • 3
      Add plenty of water.

Add water to get the slide good and wet. If you have a sprinkler, place it beside the tarp. This allows water to continuously flow on the slip and slide, so it stays wet.

Use baby oil for super slippery slip and slides.

Pour a bottle of baby oil on the tarp. For super slippery slip and slides, make sure to pour it all over the tarp.

If you don't want to use baby oil, another option is dish washing liquid. A lot of people use this and it's very slippery. However, things do get soapy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wash off the tarp, dry it out in the sun, and roll it up for next time.

  • Homemade slip and slides are much bigger AND much cheaper than the traditional slip n slides.
