If you are on a gluten free diet due to Celiac Disease or gluten intolerance, you already know that regular brownies are out. You don't have to be deprived of wonderful treats though. After some experimentation, I've come up with the best brownie recipe ever!!!These brownies are just as good as any regular recipe. My kids don't even realize they are gluten free!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 squares of semi sweet chocolate
  • 1/4 cup white rice flour
  • 1/4 cup tapioca flour
  • 1/4 cup sorghum flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 1 teaspoon gluten free vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. xanthan gum
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (if desired)
  1. Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350'. Spray or lightly grease a glass or metal 9x9in. square baking pan. Place butter or margarine and chocolate squares in a glass measuring cup and microwave for 1 minute to melt the chocolate. Stir the chocolate until smooth.

  2. Step 2

Mix the sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl. Stir in the chocolate and butter mixture and mix until smooth. Now add the 3 flours, baking powder, xanthan gum, and salt. Stir again until smooth. You can either use a hand mixer, whisk or large spoon. I usually just use a spoon.

  3. Step 3

Add your nuts and stir one more time. Now pour the mixture into your greased pan. Bake the brownies for 30-35 minutes. (I usually have to bake mine for 35 minutes, but different ovens and altitudes will vary)

Cool the brownies and then cut into squares. They won't last long, I promise you that!

Tips & Warnings
  • This is the best gluten free brownie recipe I've come up with yet. I'll update this recipe if I come up with something better.
