How to Sync IPod Touch With Windows Media Player 11

Owners of the iPod Touch can add and remove songs from the portable media player using iTunes. Those who have used Windows Media Player with other portable media players may not be a fan of the iTunes setup. Windows Media Player 11 and the iPod Touch are not meant to sync with one another. By downloading and installing the proper add-on, however, you can sync any first generation iPod Touch with Windows Media Player 11.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Go to the MGTEK dopisp homepage (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

    Click the "Download Now" button underneath the "Free 30-Days Trial" heading. The MGTEK dopisp setup will then begin downloading.

  3. Step 3

    Open up the MGTEK dopisp setup. You will the be directed to plug an iPod into your computer. When this message appears, you will need to plug your iPod Touch into your computer. Then, click "Retry."

  4. Step 4

    Follow the instructions on your screen to complete the MGTEK dopisp setup.

  5. Step 5

    Open Windows Media Player. Once you do, a MGTEK dopisp window will open on your screen. Click the "Trial" button located in that window.

  6. Step 6

    Click "Sync" found at the top of Windows Media Player. Your iPod Touch will be listed in the right corner of the program. From there, you will be able to manage your iPod Touch using Windows Media Player.

Tips & Warnings
  • After the first 30 days, you must purchase MGTEK dopisp in order to keep using the program on your computer. MGTEK dopisp is not compatible with the second generation iPod Touch. At this time, there is no way to sync the second generation iPod Touch with Windows Media Player.
