Songs and albums added to your Windows Media Player 11 library can be listened to and transferred to a blank CD or portable media player using the software program. A faulty file or other problem in Windows Media Player 11 can cause the library to get corrupted. To fix this problem, you will need to erase the entire Windows Media Player 11 library. This can't be done in Windows Media Player, but you can delete the library through My Computer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Close Windows Media Player.

  2. Step 2

Click the "Start" tab found on the left side of the task bar.

  3. Step 3

    Double-click the "C" drive.

  4. Step 4

Open the "Documents and Settings" folder. Select your user name.

  5. Step 5

    Open the "Application Data" folder.

  6. Step 6

Scroll down and open the "Microsoft" folder. Then, open the "Media Player" folder.

  7. Step 7

Hold down the "Control" key on your keyboard. Then click every file listed in the "Media Player" folder. Once you've selected these files, right click over one of the files and select "Delete." Confirm the delete in the box that appears on the screen.

  8. Step 8

Restart your computer and then open Windows Media Player. Your Windows Media Player 11 library will have been erased.
