1
Make sure the washing machine is unplugged. Shut off the hot and cold water supply at the shutoff valves that are below the hose connections.
-
2
Locate the fittings on the back of your washing machine. Notice that there are two input fittings side by side; these will be marked "hot" and "cold" for the corresponding water line hoses. The third fitting is for the larger drain hose.

3
Connect the hot water intake hose by inserting the rubber gasket washer into the each end of the hose and then screwing one end of the hose onto the washing machine connection and the other end onto the hot water connection coming from the wall or floor. Tighten the connections with an adjustable wrench or pair of pliers.
-
4
Repeat the process with the second water hose, connecting the cold water line to the washer intake.
-
5
Attach the drain hose by screwing it into the drainage connection on the washing machine. The other end, which is typically bent, is either placed in the drain pipe that comes out of the floor or is inserted into a laundry tub (if provided).
-
6
Plug in the washing machine to the electrical outlet and turn on the hot and cold water lines at the shutoff valves that are below the hose connections. Turn the washing machine on and check all fittings for leaks before sliding your washer into its permanent location.
