Step 1
In order to create your own information products,
you will need a word processor. Don't worry if
you don't have one, you can always download
Open Office which is freeware and allows you
to save your documents in PDF format.
What is PDF format? It simply means
“portable document file.” Created by
Adobe Systems, it allows files to be downloaded
and shared. What this means for you is that
you can create these PDF files in the form of
Ebooks and Reports that you can sell online! -
Step 2
Next, decide what kind of information would you like to sell?
It's best to write How-to information
that helps someone resolve a problem.
Write a book or report about something
you already know about and holds interest for you.
Everyone has knowledge they can share and
will benefit someone else for reading it.
Remember, you can always interview an
expert on your chosen subject to contribute
to your book. Be sure to give this person
proper credit for their input! Make sure
the information you sell is of quality and
benefits the reader! Be sure to spell check
and write in a concise, easy to understand
manner. Keep it simple and accurate! -
Step 3
Once you have completed your book and saved
it to PDF, you will need to have a means to
market in and accept payment. There are
several ways you can market your information
products. One way is to create a web site
or blog and set up a merchant account or
use a third party processor like PayPal.
You also opt to sell your information products
through Clickbank (which has on one-time $50.00
sign up fee.) You can also go with Lulu or Ebay's
partner Half.com.
There are resources at the end of this article
to help you with this. You may also want
to write articles about your topic and submit
them to the major article directories. -
Step 4
In conclusion, with a little time and effort,
you can create your own information products
for which you have total control over and sell
them through various channels on the internet.
There are few tools that can help get you started
and information available to guide you through
the process. So, why sell someone else's products
when you can create your own? All you need is
a good idea and some research and you'll be on
your way to making money on the internet!
