Step 1
Find out how long the dry cleaner has been in business. If it is a new location, check about the credentials from a previous location or another in a chain with the same owners. Good cleaners stick around and build a respectable reputation.
-
Step 2
Check to see whether the cleaner does business at the store location or if the items are sent to a plant. Large plants do a nice job cleaning, but there is a bigger chance of items being lost.
-
Step 3
Contact the Better Business Bureau and see if the dry cleaner is a member. If they are members, they are more likely to be responsive to any problems which may arise.
-
Step 4
Inquire the services the dry cleaner provides. See if they pay special attention to stains, care for special fabrics and tailor clothing items.
-
Step 5
See if the fees are the same for a woman's and a man's clothing. Some dry cleaners try to charge higher fees for cleaning a women's clothing. If they do, find a new cleaner.
