Things You'll Need:
- Sense of humor
- Patience
-
Step 1
When confronted with an annoying Dodger fan, you have to decide whether or not you want to deal with it for the whole season. Remember baseball lasts 162 games.
-
Step 2
Once you've decided that you want the Dodger talk to stop, you must take action. When confronted with "Hey, did you see the Dodgers game?," you can take the first step by lying. "No, is it hockey season?" Sometimes, this can throw off a simple Dodger fan, and they will just walk away.
-
Step 3
If that doesn't work, and they continue to pester, try pretending like you are super busy with all of you work. "Sorry, I couldn't catch the game. I'm overloaded with paper work. Do you think you could help me out by organizing that file cabinet over there?" This one works if you some authority over the Dodger fan. They will not want to pull themselves into any work, so that'll probably be the last time they bug you.
-
Step 4
If that fails, try throwing out old timer stats. "I prefer the Brooklyn Dodgers. Now that was a team you could really get behind. Pee Wee Reese was a real ball player. Not like the scrubs that play now..." This works really well if you happen to be old or already seem out of touch. The current Dodger fan usually doesn't know anything pre-LA.
-
Step 5
The last resort before giving in and letting annoying Dodger fan ruin your summer is to fake an illness. If you start wheezing and coughing every time he or she comes by, it will defer them from coming over to your cube.
-
Step 6
If nothing works, just remember, the Dodgers will probably stink next year, so you're pain is usually only short lived.
