If you have always wanted to start scrapbooking but are not sure how to start, this article is for you. You don't need to be the craftiest person in the world. You just need a little bit of time and the right materials so you can create memories to pass on to generations.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • pictures
  • colored paper
  • scissors or paper cutter
  • glue
  • pen
  • stickers (optional)
  1. Step 1

Select background paper and picture(s) you would like to use.

  2. Step 2

Cut picture (if needed) to shape and size you want. Cut the paper into the same shape as the picture but just a little larger on all sides so it creates a frame. Glue the picture to the cut paper (not the background paper). Repeat if you plan on using more than one picture.

  3. Step 3

Using another piece of paper, write a paragraph or two about why this memory is important to you (can be long or short). Remember to include details such as who, what, when, and where.

  4. Step 4

Place the framed picture(s) and the paragraph on the background paper. Try positioning them in different places on the paper until you find one that pleases your eye.

  5. Step 5

Glue the framed pictures and written paragraph on your background paper.

  6. Step 6

Add random stickers to enhance the look of the page (this is a judgment call; you may decide to skip this step).

Tips & Warnings
  • Scrapbook supply stores sell paper already cut out to scrapbook specifications. Most are 12 x 12 or 8 1/2 x 11. Pick out a scrapbook in one of those sizes and always buy the paper of the same size so you don't have to cut background paper.
  • Always use acid and lignin free materials so your pictures will not fade.
