A good pair of women's walking shoes can be pricey and over time they can get dirty. If you clean women's walking shoes instead of replacing them, you save our eco-system and save yourself the expense of buying a new pair. Here is how to clean women's walking shoes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Women's walking shoes
  • Kitchen dish brush
  • Mild Clothes Detergent
  • Bucket
  • Water
  1. Step 1

Rinse the footwear off with cold to warm water. Rinsing will help clean women's walking shoes by removing a lot of the dirt and debris that is on the shoes.

  2. Step 2

Fill a bucket with water and a mild clothes detergent like Woolite. Remove the inserts from the walking shoes and put the shoes and inserts in the bucket.

  3. Step 3

To clean the women's walking shoes let the shoes soak in the bucket for several hours.

  4. Step 4

Use a kitchen dish brush to remove additional stains and spots. Apply a small amount of detergent directly to the brush and apply to stubborn stains on the shoe. Repeat with the walking shoe inserts.

  5. Step 5

Rinse the shoes and inserts thoroughly in clean water. Allow the walking shoes time to air dry.

  6. Step 6

Wash shoe laces by hand or purchase a new pair to make your clean women's walking shoes look even cleaner.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not put walking shoes in the dryer.

on 7/20/2009 Good job on this article. Good tip that you have to wash the laces separately. Otherwise they become spotty with dirt from being interlaced. I'm interested in your articles. Here's an idea if you haven't written it yet..how to remove shoe odor from dress shoes. I assume it would be different from sneakers, and also assume that few to none have written about it yet. But it seems good for you.
