Things You'll Need:
- Neilmed Sinus Rinse Mixture Packets and bottle, distilled or tap water, tissues
-
Step 1
The bottleBuy the Neilmed Sinus Rinse Mixture Packets at any drugstore. If you are a first time buyer, make sure you buy the box that has the bottle in it. When you are buying refills, you can buy any box you want after the initial purchase.
-
Step 2
Get distilled water. My doctor and my husband insist on mixing the packets with distilled water. I use regular tap water and I am fine.
-
Step 3
Pour one packet of sinus rinse in the bottle. Then put warm water, distilled or not, in the bottle, cover it, and mix it up.
-
Step 4
Bend over the sink.Bend over the sink. Put the tip of the bottle that has the hole in it up to one of your nostrils. Squeeze the bottle completely. Then let the water come out of your nose into the sink. Repeat. Then do it on the other side. Repeat if there is enough water left in the bottle.
-
Step 5
Tilt your head backBlow your nose continuously. Tilt your head back and front and blow your nose. You could also just stand over the sink, tilt your head up and back, and blow out the excess water.
-
Step 6
Blow your nose!Rinse out the bottle with warm water after each use. You can also wash it with warn soapy water from time to time. I rinse mine with vinegar every couple of weeks. Replace the bottle in approximately 3 months.
-
Step 7
Perform these steps in the morning and in the evening and you will keep your sinuses healthier than they have ever been before.

on 6/4/2009 Great article. I use saline solution, but this sounds like it really cleans the sinus area.

on 6/3/2009 I use a sinus rinse when I need to. It is natural and much better than medication. It works really well however, it did give me a head rush at first.
