When you go into the store to choose a hair conditioner it can be overwhelming! Not just at the amount of conditioners in the shelves, but the prices. If you would like to make conditioners in the comfort of your own home and cheaply, try one of these recipes.

  1. Step 1

    Conditioning your hair plays a big part in keeping your hair healthy. Most of these conditioners can be made with items you have in your kitchen right now. Most of these also should be down before you wash your hair. They will leave your hair beautiful and feeling great! Depending on the length of your hair you may have to double or even triple up these recipes.

  2. Step 2

    - Tropical conditioner -

    1 avocado
    1 can coconut milk

    Mash the avocado and add in the coconut milk. Add in just enough to make it thick like a regular conditioner.
    Mix well.
    Apply it through your hair.
    Allow it to penetrate for 15 - 20 minutes.
    Rinse well.

  3. Step 3

    - Deep conditioning -

    Mayonnaise

    All you do is apply mayo to your hair and wrap your hair with saran wrap or a shower cap then place a warm towel over it.
    Leave it in for about 30 minutes.
    Rinse out well.
    Wash your hair, maybe twice to remove all the mayo.

    Mayonnaise (the amount depends on your hair length)
    1/2 an avocado

    Mash the two ingredients together in a bowl until smooth.
    Apply to your hair.
    Wrap your hair with saran wrap or a shower cap, and then a warm towel on the top.
    Rinse out well.
    Wash your hair, maybe twice to remove all the mayo.

  4. Step 4

    - Green tea conditioner -

    2 green tea bags
    2 cups water

    Boil the water and place the tea bags in it.
    Allow to steep and cool down.
    Remove the tea bags.

    When fully cooled down, pour the mixture onto your hair.
    Allow it to sit for 5 minutes.
    Rinse out.

  5. Step 5

    - Honey conditioners -

    Honey
    Water

    Mix together equal parts honey and water.
    Apply onto your hair.
    Leave on for 20 minutes.
    Rinse out.
    You may have to wash your hair twice to remove all the honey.

    1 ripe banana
    1/2 cup honey

    Mash the banana well, add the honey and mix well again.
    Apply to your damp hair.
    Allow into penetrate for 30 minutes.
    Rinse out.
    Wash hair.

  6. Step 6

    - Egg conditioner -

    1 avocado
    1 egg yolk

    Mash the avocado until creamy.
    Mix in the egg yolk and stir well.
    Place into your hair.
    Allow it to sit for 15 minutes.
    Rinse out.
    Wash your hair as normal.

    1 egg yolk
    2 teaspoons olive oil

    Mix the two ingredients well.
    Massage into your scalp and hair.
    Leave on for 10 - 15 minutes.
    Rinse out.
    Wash your hair as normal.

  7. Step 7

    After washing your hair, pour apple cider vinegar over it. Allow it to sit for a few minutes and rinse out. This helps bring out the shine in your hair.
