I wanted to share a diet friendly smoothie recipe that I came up with myself. I created this while on nutrisystem and it fits into that plan perfectly. It is a wonderful delicious and filling high fiber summer breakfast treat!
Even my husband begs me to make them for him and he is a junk food, meat and potatoes kind of guy. :)

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blender
  • 3 LG Fresh Strawberries
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Blueberries
  • 1 packet of High Fiber Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal
  • 1/4 cup Splenda (or similar)
  • 1 8oz Strawberry Yogurt
  • 1 1/2 cups Crushed Ice
  • 1/2 cup soy or low fat milk
  • A tall glass
  • A spoon
  1. Step 1

Chop strawberries into at least 4 pieces, making sure to remove the green leafy parts on the top. You will not need to chop up the rest of the ingredients. Simply add them you the blender.

  2. Step 2

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend well for a delicious and filling smoothie that is full of goodness! Serves 1, but you could easily double this recipe to make more than 1 serving.

  3. Step 3

For your guests or as a surprise morning treat you could embellish with a straw and a fresh strawberry with two or three blueberries on top. This smoothie makes a great summer time breakfast drink.

Tips & Warnings
  • Apple Cinnamon oatmeal adds a great flavor but if you don't like that type you could use a packet of plain oatmeal as well.
  • This smoothie is about 350 (healthy) calories total.
  • Be careful not to stick anything in the blender while it is on, including fingers, spatulas, or additional ingredients.
