One of the most delicious recipes I have ever had for dessert was at a local Amish village in Indiana where they served apple pie. It was seriously the best apple pie I had ever had in my entire life!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 and a half cups of diced apples, peeled
  • 1 unbaked 9 inch pie crust
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  1. Step 1

In a large bowl, beat the sour cream and egg together being careful to make sure both combine swiftly.

  2. Step 2

In the mixture, add flour, sugar, salt and vanilla and continue beating until the mixture is smooth.

  3. Step 3

Slowly stir in the apples making sure to get them in uniformly into the batter mixture.

  4. Step 4

Put foil on the outter edges of the pie to make sure that the crust part does not burn.

  5. Step 5

Preheat the over at 400 degree F for 5 minutes and put the mixture in at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.

  6. Step 6

Mix the crumb toppings including the brown sugar, butter, flour and cinnamon together.

  7. Step 7

Remove the pie from the over and spread the crumb toppings on the pie.

  8. Step 8

Bake the pie for an additional 20 minutes.
