How to Make Springfield Cashew Chicken

My husband grew up in Springfield, Missouri and that city has a lot of Chinese Restaurants. My husband loves cashew chicken and he learned how to make it at home. It's really easy to make Chinese food at home. When you see how inexpensive making your own at home can be, you'll understand why so many Chinese Restaurants use cashew chicken on their specials menu.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Springfield Chinese Chicken
  • 2 tablespoons of Cashews
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onion
  • 1 cup fried rice
  • bottled oyster sauce
  1. Step 1

    Make a batch of Springfield Chinese Chicken. This is probably the part that will take the longest but it's really easy to make. To make Springfield Chinese chicken see my article with the recipe.

  2. Step 2

    While chicken is hot, Place a hot serving of fried rice onto a plate.

  3. Step 3

    Place several pieces of the Springfield Chinese Chicken onto the fried rice.

  4. Step 4

    Place the cashews onto the chicken.

  5. Step 5

    Drizzle the oyster sauce over the cashews.

  6. Step 6

    Chop your green onion. Place your chopped green onions on top of the oyster sauce.

  7. Step 7

    Serve with egg rolls and hot tea.

Tips & Warnings
  • For a change of pace try replacing Cashews with sliced almonds to make Almond Chinese Chicken.
