How to Convert Your Outlook Contacts to VCF vCard Format

Microsoft Outlook is an email and calendar management program developed and released by the Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft Outlook uses proprietary file formats to manage the contacts inputted into its address book feature. Learn how to convert your Outlook contacts to the .VCF vCard format in order to send the converted Outlook contact info to other individuals.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Launch Outlook by double-clicking its icon on the computer desktop or selecting it from the Start menu.

  2. Step 2

    Open the address book in Microsoft Outlook. Click the individual name for the Outlook contact you wish to convert to VCF (the standard vCard format).

  3. Step 3

    Click File in the top menu bar. Select "Save As" from the drop-down menu. A dialog and options window will appear on the screen.

  4. Step 4

    Select "vCard Files" from the drop-down list of selections and click the Save button. Outlook will then convert the Outlook contact to VCF. You may now send the converted VCF Outlook contact to other individuals who can open it even if they do not have Microsoft Outlook installed on their computer.

Tips & Warnings
  • The VCF format is compatible with Macs and PCs.
