Step 1
Wash your hands regularly but especially before eating or touching food.
-
Step 2
Wipe down all surfaces in your kitchen and wash your hands before and after preparing meals. There are a lot of bacteria present on some uncooked foods, especially meats.
-
Step 3
Practice caution and use antibacterial items in public places like bathrooms, stores, and airports. So many people enter these places that it's almost impossible to avoid touching germs but carrying antibacterial wipes or hand gel can assist you in an easy cleanup when out in public.
-
Step 4
Make sure that your vaccinations are up to date, especially if you are traveling abroad. If you have any questions, contact your doctor and they can explain to you the vaccinations that may help you.
-
Step 5
When in public avoid rubbing your eyes and nose and/or putting your fingers on your lips or mouth. This can be very hard for some people, like those who have allergies. But as soon as your germ covered finger hits that eye you have just spread the germs.
-
Step 6
Clean your whole house at least once a week. Make sure to sanitize things that are touched the most like door knobs, tv remotes, bathrooms, kitchen, and kids toys.
-
Step 7
Don't eat questionable food. Food poisoning can be extremely harmful to your digestive system.
-
Step 8
When getting tattoos, body piercing, or even spa treatments, make sure that all intruments are sanitized and that the personnel are licensed.
-
Step 9
Avoid sharing personal items with friends like earrings and makeup. The same would go for sharing food and drinks with them at lunch or at a party.
