How to Rotate the Screen on a Monitor

With the increased multipurpose use of computer monitors, many users may need to rotate the screen to better accommodate picture displays. Fortunately, screen rotation can be achieved in just a few basic steps if you're running the latest versions of Windows with a Nvidia video card.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click on your computer's desktop and select "Personalize." This will open a new window entitled "Personalization."

    • 2

Click on "Display Settings," typically located at the bottom of the Personalization window. This will open another new window.

    • 3

Click on "Advanced Settings." By default, the Advanced Settings window will usually be set to the "Adapter" tab. Click the tab for your Nvidia video card; this will usually be labeled with the popular Nvidia "GeForce" or "nForce" brand-names.

    • 4

Click "Start the Nvidia Control Panel." A new window will open.

    • 5

Click on "Rotate Display," located underneath the "Display" heading.

    • 6

Select the desired rotation by clicking on it. By default, this will be set to "No Rotation (Landscape)." You can select 90-degree or 180-degree rotation options. Click "Apply" to confirm the rotation. Your monitor's display will then rotate automatically.
