If you have some MPEG video files that you want to convert to IFO files, you will need to use a video converter that is compatible with IFO files. There are not a lot of IFO converters available, and the Xilisoft MPEG to DVD Converter is a popular IFO converter program that can quickly convert an MPEG file to an IFO file. The Xilisoft MPEG to DVD Converter is easy to use and can be downloaded for free.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Xilisoft MPEG to DVD Converter
  1. Step 1

Visit the topvideopro.com (see Resources) to download and install the Xilisoft MPEG to DVD Converter. The MPEG to DVD Converter is a free download and is free to try out, but you will need to pay if you want to keep the program on your computer (2009 price: $25.00).

  2. Step 2

Select the MPEG files. Click the "Add Video Files" button to add the MPEG files. You can add all of the files at once to convert at the same time.

  3. Step 3

Tweak the settings. Once you have added the MPEG files, you can tweak the settings. Select if you want letterbox, full screen or pan and scan.

  4. Step 4

Select the output location. Use the drop-down menu by "Destination" to select the folder on your computer where you want to save the IFO files.

  5. Step 5

Convert to IFO. Click "Start to Burn" at the top of the screen or click on the orange button with the wrench to start converting the MPEG files to IFO files. Watch the progress bar at the bottom as the files convert. A pop-up will appear once the files have converted. Click "OK," and you can use the new IFO files.
