Locate the metal snaps on the strap if the Timbuk2 strap uses a metal snap to secure itself. Pull the snaps apart to unsnap the enclosure and free the loop, then slide the strap through the bag's loophole to remove the entire strip of material.

Tips & Warnings
You can obtain a Timbuk2 replacement strap directly from the bag manufacturer. Like the actual bags, the strap can be customized with a variety of fabric types and color styles. Select a replacement strap that looks like the old strap you're replacing, or create a new custom strap. Always first determine whether your Timbuk2 bag is a compatible bag model that allows you to replace the bag strap. Timbuk2 bags with removable straps include all bags that use Velcro or a metal snap enclosure to secure the strap to the sides of the bag. Consider installing a padded sheath to the bag strap. The Timbuk2 company sells extra padding that adds an additional layer of material where the bag strap comes in contact with your body. This may make the bag more comfortable.
Velcro straps may cease to work properly over a period of time.
