How to Set a Camber on a Chevy Z71
by Russell WoodUpdated August 01, 2023Point the front wheels on the Chevrolet straight forward. Lift the front of the Z71 with the jack and put jack stands underneath the frame.
Locate the upper control arm mounting bolts on the side of the frame. Locate the alignment cams on the outsides of the upper control arm mounting bolts, and the alignment pin sticking out of the frame. This indicates the current camber setting of the truck.
Slightly loosen the upper control arm mounting bolts with the open-end wrench and the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Turn the bolt with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket until the alignment pin is lined up with the mark on the alignment cam that you want your camber set to. Then tighten down the mounting bolts with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket and an open-end wrench.
Lower the truck off of the jack stands. Verify that the camber setting is where you want, and if it's not, repeat steps 1-3.
