Instructions

    • 1

Gather both ends of the hose or tubing so they are close at hand.

    • 2

Using a utility knife, cut off an inch from each end of the hose or tubing. Make sure the cut is clean and as straight as possible.

    • 3

Insert a threaded garden hose barb into each end. Twist the barb so the barbs screw down into the hose.

    • 4

Inspect the barb to make sure the barbs are completely buried in the hose and that the bib is flush with the lips of the hose. If the barbs are not packed all the way in, the hose barb could pop off when the water is turned on.

    • 5

Screw one hose barb to a spigot.

    • 6

Slowly turn on the spigot and watch to see if water is seeping between the hose and either hose barb . If so, you will need to try a 1/2-inch hose barb instead.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be careful when cutting with a utility knife. Place the hose on the ground or a work bench before cutting.
