You've probably joined a gym at some point, only to realize a month later the novelty wears off quickly and soon you start making excuses so you don't have to go. You probably tell yourself time is too tight right now, but once things calm down you'll pick back up where you started. Sound familiar? Read the steps below to keep working out at the gym fun- so you're more likely to go, and actually get what you paid for!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A gym membership
  • MP3 player
  • Workout buddy
  1. Step 1

First, find a gym you actually like. If your gym offers relaxing things such as a whirlpool along with great machines, you're much more likely to keep going. Ask for a trial membership and get a good feel for the place and people who go there, if you're not comfortable, find another gym.

  2. Step 2

Find a workout buddy, whether it's a friend or family member, if you have someone to go with, you'll feel more obligated to go. They're less likely to let you slide and they won't buy your excuses! Plus, most gyms offer a 2 for 1 or a large discount on referrals.

  3. Step 3

Load up your mp3 player with heart pumping songs! You know that song that comes on the radio and makes you want to jump up and dance? Put them on your mp3 player. Make sure your playlist is atleast 60 minutes, and change the songs often so they don't get boring.

  4. Step 4

Last but not least, enjoy yourself. Whether you're going to the gym to lose weight or bulk up, enjoy the endorphins exercising sends your way. The list of benefits from exercise is huge!

Tips & Warnings
  • Pick a buddy who isn't afraid to push you and who has similar goals and a similar schedule.
  • Always consult a doctor before starting any workout program, and make sure to keep an eye on your heart rate.
