Things You'll Need:
- Computer
- Internet
- Time Off
- Coupons
-
Step 1
Research Online: Search your local community for fairs, festivals or summer-specific festivities. You can visit a local museum, lake, ocean or mountain for a day-trip outdoor getaway.
-
Step 2
Rest and Relax: Try staying home for a couple of days- turn off the phone, stay off the computer and simply sit around watching movies or playing games with friends and family. By simplifying your life you may feel a weight leave your shoulders and focus on one thing that really matters in life- your sanity.
-
Step 3
Use a Coupon Book: Flip through an Entertainment Book and pick several activities and eateries that you have not tried before (or tried and true favorites). Activities such as movies, theatre performances, outdoor activities as well as dining experiences can be found in a coupon book and can help ease the financial burden of a vacation.
-
Step 4
Search online for good deals: Searching for last minute deals can help save you a lot of money. If you are flexible with your destinations and travel dates you can save even more money than the typical travel site deals.

on 8/23/2009 We are going to drive down Hwy 101. We call it our "Aquarium" trip. We are stopping at the aquariums on the way to Oxnard. While there, we will stay at my friends mom's beach house! Cheap and fun!

on 8/23/2009 We just did a 'what the heck' vacation. Instead of flying and staying in a hotel we went to visit my wife's brother and his family and will reciprocate in November. We did simple, inexpensive things together and driving was not so difficult because we broke it up, stopped at fun and free events and had a great vacation!
Great ideas! 5*
