Things You'll Need:
- Tree (!)
- Drill
- Pieces of wood
- Hammer
- Nails
- Screws
-
Step 1
Pick a tree with low branches (even one with no branches will work).
-
Step 2
Cut 2 pieces of wood approximately 10 inches by 14 inches by 3/4 inch thick. Cut a half circle out of each, big enough to fit around the tree, leaving 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch space around the tree.
-
Step 3
Cut 4 more pieces of wood, approximately 2 inches by 14 inches x 1/2 inch thick. With 3/4 inch wood screws, attach one of these 4 pieces, to one of the wood pieces with the half circle, extending it past the half circle. Then, attach the other piece of wood to the other half-circle piece of wood, on the side opposite the other.
-
Step 4
With the 2 other pieces of 2 inch by 14 inch by 1/2 inch wood, attach them to each of the half pieces with wood screws, perpendicular to the support pieces.
-
Step 5
Then, place the 2 half-pieces around the tree with the support pieces on the bottom. Attach the wood pieces to the tree, fitting the half circles around the tree.
-
Step 6
Invite your daughter to decorate with paints, and play, play, play!
