Instructions

    • 1

STOP USING YOUR CREDIT CARDS! Especially for non-essential items. If you have to go out for dinner, use cash. If you want a new outfit for work, then pay cash. It is much harder to separate yourself from cold hard cash then it is to hand over a little piece of plastic.

Line up all of your credit cards and write down each ones interest rate and balance. you want to determine which ones need to get paid off first.

    • 3

Take the 2 highest interest cards you own and start paying them. Do not wait till the payment is due. Start trying weekly. Instead of that new pair of shoes you really don't need, use the money to pay that card.

    • 4

Call the credit card companies. Ask for a lower interest rate. To keep you as a spending customer your credit card company might lower your interest a point or two. That can really add up.

    • 5

Pick one or two of your credit cards with the best interest rate and keep them in your wallet. Use these only in the case of an emergency. Get rid of the other cards. Burn them, freeze them, hide them, lock them up, just get rid of them.
