Hardwood floors need special care to keep them looking brilliant. If you want a cleaning method that is natural, inexpensive and 'green', consider using a mixture of water and vinegar when you mop.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

First, sweep your floor well to remove any dirt, dust and debris. Starting with a clean floor will ensure a clear, shiny result.

  2. Step 2

Mix a half cup of white vinegar with warm water in a bucket. White vinegar is preferred because it is inexpensive and will not stain a hardwood floor.

  3. Step 3

Dip your mop in the water and vinegar mixture. Wring the mop well so that it is only damp. You don't want to apply too much water to a hardwood floor because it can be damaging. A barely damp mop is ideal for cleaning a hardwood floor.

  4. Step 4

Allow the floor to dry before walking on it. Dump the dirty water out in a utility sink or outside in the yard. Admire your sparkling floor.
