It is not widely known, but the United States Postal Service offers a Military Care Kit. It is available to anyone who wants to mail packages to someone serving in the armed forces. The USPS wants to promote mailing packages to our soldiers, so everyone is allowed to take advantage of this offer.
What is included in the kit? The kit I ordered and received contained the following:
Two Large Priority Flat Rate boxes
Two tall Medium Flat Rate boxes
Two short Medium Flat Rate Boxes
Six address labels
Six Customs Forms
Six clear plastic adhesive-backed envelopes to attach the customs forms to your package
One roll of Priority Mail TapeAll this is sent to you free of charge, and there is no limit on how many kits you or your group can order!

So, how do you order the Postal Service Military Care Kit? Simply call 1-800-610-8734, choose Option 1, and ask for the Military Care Kit, or the "Mili-Kit", as it is also known. You will speak to a USPS Customer Service Representative who will take your order for the number of kits you request. You will normally receive your Military Care Kit within a week of ordering, although the Postal Service representative is obligated to tell you that it may take longer than that.

The Military Care Kit is a great product that makes it easier for anyone to send packages to someone serving in the United States military. These boxes can be sent anywhere in the world that our troops are serving, and you will only be charged domestic Priority Mail postage rates.

Tips & Warnings
If you belong to, or know of an organization that supports the troops, share this information with them. This could be of great help, as they are probably already mailing packages to friends and family members in the service. Schools, churches, and many clubs often have programs in place to regularly mail packages to soldiers.
The Priority Mail tape that is included in the Military Care Kit is not available anywhere else. It used to be available free to anyone, but the USPS no longer provides it except in this kit. The tape is strong and is suitable for safely sealing your boxes.
