Things You'll Need:
- Coupons
- Sale Ads
-
Step 1
Buy a Sunday paper. Usually, it costs a dollar in the store or at a news stand. The coupon savings will be well worth the dollar. Ask friends and family to give you all the coupons they don't use. The more the merrier.
-
Step 2
Look for coupons online like on coolsavings.com. Some grocery stores do not accept printed coupons, so be sure to check before you march in there with a handful of unacceptable coupons.
-
Step 3
Cut out and print out all the coupons you think you might use.
-
Step 4
Organize them in a coupon holder, available online or in some retail stores. You can always use a recipe box. Use tabs to indicate things like breakfast, dessert and cleaners.
-
Step 5
Look through the sale ads. Whatever grocery stores are in your area, look through them. Only buy things when they are on sale. Buy meat on sale and freeze. Invest in a deep freezer; it will pay off in the end.
-
Step 6
Match the sales with the coupons and be sure to know which stores double coupons and up to how much. For some people, this isn't new, but others may be wondering why they never thought of it. Many people get things for free or next to nothing using this method.
