Whether you are tired of constantly having to drink a cup of coffee or a soda to ease the headache of caffeine withdrawl or just don't like the idea of taking a drug every single day to be normal, then stopping the use of caffeine can be very beneficial.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Caffeine is indeed a drug. It is a stimulant for our body that can increase awareness and many other beneficial things. However, when taking caffeine, a larger and larger dose is required to get the same effects as before and the withdrawls you receive later require you to take more. For this reason, many people decide to quit taking caffeine. Many decide to stop "cold turkey", but do not do this.

  2. Step 2

Gradually lower your caffeine intake to help cope with some of the severe withdrawl symptoms such as headaches, migraines, depression, and irritability. Instead of 2 cups of coffee, maybe one and a half for this week and just one next week.

  3. Step 3

Take substitues in place of caffeinated beverages. Whether this be juice, flavored water, sports drinks, etc.

  4. Step 4

Drinks like soda and coffee can contain many calories, sources of fat, and sugar and can be very bad for your health. Without relying on these drinks, many health benefits can be seen. Replacing the calories in a can of soda with calories your body needs from other drinks such as milk will help with your overall health. Quitting drinks like coffee and soda can also play a vital role in bone health and be beneficial for your teeth.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never quit caffeine abruptly. Always gradually do it.
  • Caffeine can be very bad for your health if taken in excess.
  • Withdrawl symptoms are almost guarenteed for the first few days depending on your dependence on caffeine
