Money may be tight, but that doesn't mean that you can't treat yourself to a day at the spa! When times are stressful, a professional treatment can help to energize and improve overall health. Use these tips to learn how to get quality services on a budget.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Search for competing spa coupons. If you have a particular spa you've been dying to visit, search out what their competitors are offering. Chances are, they will be willing to meet or beat those prices in order to get your business!

  2. Step 2

Visit online spa discount sites. There are many web sites that allow you to search for spa offerings in your area. Popular sites include SpaFinder.com, Spavelous.com and SpaFlyer.com.

  3. Step 3

Look for "mini" treatments on the spa services menu. A mini treatment could be a 1/2 hour facial that zones in on your skin concerns, a 1/2 hour massage that focuses on problem areas, etc. These shorter services are becoming more popular in a society that is pressed for time and money.

  4. Step 4

Just ask! You would be surprised what you can get with some polite communication. Let them know that you are searching for a quality spa in your area...they may be happy to offer you a "new client" incentive to keep your business. Many spa managers love speaking with potential clients- it helps them understand what consumers are thinking, and you could benefit in the process!

  5. Step 5

Ask for a complimentary "add-on" service. Not all spas are willing to discount their services, but you may be able to get a free scalp massage, paraffin wax service or deep conditioning treatment if you just ask.

  6. Step 6

Sign up for newsletters. If you have a few interesting spas in your area, visit their web site and sign up for their e-mails. Spas often send exclusive offers via e-mail, and you'll be the first to know about news and events.

  7. Step 7

Check the calendar for upcoming holidays. If you can put off a facial or massage for a bit longer, you can often get discounts around big holidays (especially Valentine's, Christmas, Mother's Day, etc.). You may have to wait a bit longer, but you'll reap the benefits when you get the bill!
