How to remove ink stamps from pretreated wood.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Belt or orbital sander
  1. Step 1

First go ahead and build your deck or project as needed. Try to place any of the ugly ink stamps down or in the back as much as possible to lessen the work load. After you have completed your project and you still have many of those nasty ink stamps all over your lumber that need to be removed.

  2. Step 2
    Sanding Ink Stamps

To remove all of those ink stamps is rather easy. Use a belt sander or an orbital sander and lightly sand each ink stamp in the same direction as the wood grain. Sand each stamp until it disappears. Go through your entire project until you have found and sanded every stamp.

  3. Step 3

Make sure not to sand too deep in any one area. This may cause low spots in your project which are not very desirable. If this begins to happen, slightly sand sand out around low spot and work in to smooth out the low spot.
