You need to goth up your writing? Here are some tips!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • tortured soul
  • expressiveness
  1. Step 1

Do not write about things in a non chalant way. Be dramatic. Be painfully truthful. The words you choose to use should chill your reader to the bone. Never use everyday words. A lot of gothic type writers use very descriptive words. Get a thesaurus.

  2. Step 2

Think Edgar Allen poe. Now HE was a very dark gothic writer. Tortured soul indeed. His content shocked everyone. Also, Dr. Suess. There is a dark side to Dr. Suess. Very colorful with words, yes, but a mysterious talent to creat charactors indeed.

  3. Step 3

Don't be afraid to be expressive. Embrace darkness because without it there is no light. There is a beauty in heartbreak. Unlike emos though, don't let it eat you up like a moron. Just tough through it.

  4. Step 4

The best gothic topics are psychotic almost in nature. Not gorey though. Try to think of oxymorons that work beautifully. The Life of Death. The Wilting of a Spring Flower. Vampirish things are gothic. The nightfall. Romance of the broken.
