Step 1
TIMELY MANNER - Dispute the charge in a timely manner. Most credit card companies only allow 60 days to dispute a charge. You may be given extra time if there are extenuating circumstances. Contact your credit card company to find out how much time you have to dispute a charge.
-
Step 2
CONTACT CREDIT CARD COMPANY - Call the phone number on the back of your credit card and tell them that you want to dispute a charge and give the reason why. It may turn out that you actually charged it but you forgot or the name of the company was different than you thought. For a legitimate dispute the credit card company should take the charge off of your bill immediately for 30 days while they investigate your dispute claim.
-
Step 3
FOLLOW THROUGH - Follow through 30 days later to make sure that the charge was not put back on your card. You need to make sure that the disputed charge is taken off of your credit card bill.

on 7/28/2009 I have always made my payments on time and way more than the minimums so I think I'm a good customer. I recently took my family on vacation and had made my reservations months in advance to secure a kitchenette, once I arrived at the motel they had given my room to somebody else, then the room I got was full of bugs on top of it not being acceptable anyways. There was also viscious animals living there that even tried attacking the owner of the motel. I did not get what I was promised.....by far! Once I tried disputing the charge with my credit card company they denied the reversal even though I have pictures of the infestation! Any ideas????
