Step 1
Most people believe that eating healthy consists of eating less calories or trans fat. This is just not true, for starters forget about calories and fat, some fats are good or you, you need omegas in your life. Eating organic and whole foods will make you fuller because you are getting the nutrients your body needs.
-
Step 2
The most important thing to do is eat organic foods, it is a little more expensive but it will save on your medical bills later on because you remove all the pesticides, steroids, antibiotics, and radiation from your foods.
-
Step 3
Here is a small menu that you can experiment with that has improved my health and many others. Remember all of this is organic.
Veggies - Carrots, celery, kale, seaweed and any type of sprout. These all contain essential nutrients that will help you to maintain a healthy life style.
Grains - Quinoa, and whole pasta' s, wild or brown rice and whole wheat bread. Quinoa is considered a grain and has the highest nutritional profile of any other grain. It contains all essential amino acids and a high protein content.
Fruits - Most fruits are good as long as it's organic, just remember no more than 2-3 servings a day.
Meats - Bison, eggs, cow. I stick to these not only because they're delicious but also farm raised animals have a much better(non cruel) life than that of conventional. Eggs in the morning is always a sure fire winner. Remember farm raised and organic.
Dairy- Dairy is bad, in my opinion milk is the unhealthiest thing you can put in your body, but if you cannot resist buy organic.
Nuts and seeds are always a good snack like unsalted sesame seeds but i' m sure you can make up your own mind.
Fish - fish now days contains high levels of mercury and antibodies so it is important to take a fish oil supplement, but if you eat fish it is a good idea to grill it as most of the harmful chemicals are stored in the fat and this way it is dripped out while cooking.
Supplements - supplements are very important, generally a multi-vitamin, fish oils, calcium and fiber. You can determine more easily what your body needs, but if you eat alot of protein you should take a calcium supplement as protein displaces calcium(another reason milk is so bad).
Water - Water is vital to our health and life, it does not come from soda or juice, and generally not the sink either. Research what is in your water, it may be a good time to find cleaner water products. Drink lots of water! -
Step 4
There are many places to buy organic, mainly whole food stores and farmers markets around your city or town. If you cannot figure out how your body works than it may be a good idea to talk to a nutritionist.
