London broils are nice for grilling in the summer time. The poor London broil has a bad reputation as a tough cut of meat. Follow this simple recipe and you’ll be surprised just how tasty and tender the London broil can be!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • London broil steak (usually top round)
  • KC Masterpiece dry seasoning
  • garlic powder
  • black pepper
  • Gas grill or charcoal grill
  1. Step 1

Sprinkle the KC Masterpiece dry seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper on each side of the meat and gently, but firmly rub the seasonings in.

  2. Step 2

Cover the meat with plastic wrap on a plate and refrigerate for an hour or two.

  3. Step 3

If you're using a gas grill heat your grill on high for a couple of minutes then set the flame to medium-low. When using a charcoal grill let the charcoal burn until the coals are glowing and have a white appearance. The idea here is to get the inside of the meat to cook without burning the outside.

For additional taste you can try adding a few small pieces of hickory, maple, or apple wood that have been pre-soaked in water. This will give the meat a nice mild smoky flavor!

  4. Step 4

Place your London on the grill and cook for 8 to 10 minutes on each side. Occasionally check to make sure the meat is not burning.

  5. Step 5

Cut your London broil diagonally across the grain in thin slices. An electric knife works well for this task, but is not necessary. Serve and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember that the pieces of meat at each end of a London broil steak will get done sooner than the center piece. Don't be afraid to make a small cut in the center of the meat to check it. The meat should be pink and juicy, but not "fleshy".
