How many times have you run up on that stubborn nut or bolt that just will not break loose? After reading this article you can make your own super penetrant that works great to help you loosen that rusted nut or bolt.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pump Oil Can
  • Brake Fluid
  • Transmission Fluid
  1. Step 1

Grab a bottle of brake fluid and a bottle of transmission fluid and a good trigger style oil pump can.

  2. Step 2

Fill the oil can half full with brake fluid. Finish filling the oil can with transmission fluid. A 50/50 ratio of each is what you want.

  3. Step 3

Swirl or shake the oil can to mix up your homemade lube and you are holding your answer to all those aggravating rusted and jammed nuts and bolts. Apply the mixture on the problem area and let it soak for a while. If by chance it still wont break loose, just apply heat with your propane torch and then break it loose with your wrench or ratchet.

Tips & Warnings
  • The idea behind this is the brake fluid cleans it and the transmission fluid lubricates it.
  • As with all shop type mixtures and such, keep out of reach of children.
  • Wear gloves to keep from busting your knuckles or burning your hand if heat needs to be applied.
