Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Purchase coconut oil at the health food store or supermarket.

  2. Step 2

Store coconut oil at room temperature to make it easier to use. Coconut oil should not be refrigerated.

  3. Step 3

Take 3 tablespoons of coconut oil a day. Coconut oil can be poured into a medicine cup or onto a tablespoon and swallowed in it's natural state.

  4. Step 4

Consider adding coconut oil to the foods you make. Coconut oil can be used in smoothies, added as a spread to toast and crackers, used as a topping on ice cream or popcorn and substituted for other oils. Take 3 tablespoons of coconut oil daily on its own or with the foods you eat or use a combination of both.
