This article provides a quick way to straighten out your golf shot right away. In a few short steps, and by hitting some golf balls on the range you will see immediate improvement in the straightness and solidity of your ball striking.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Golf Clubs
  • Balls
  • Driving Range
  1. Step 1

Get to the range and stretch out your muscles a bit. You want to be as relaxed and limber as possible when you are practicing so you can repeat the same motion over and over, creating muscle memory.

  2. Step 2

Take a few shots, notice your ball hooking or slicing too much? Here's a tip, keep your LEAD knee bent through the entire duration of the swing. Straightening the lead knee allows your shoulders to turn back toward the target too soon, which brings your path over the top. An over the top path causes horrible slicing shots and the dreaded pull hook shot.

  3. Step 3

Keeping your LEAD knee bent throughout the shot will stop your body from turning back to the target too soon. If you keep the LEAD knee bent through impact, it will give you an inside path, improving your ball striking immediately.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep it bent until the ball is gone and you have followed through.
  • Swing slowly when you first start working on this technique
  • Use a short iron and work your way up to driver.
