It can be a real chore to get rid of fleas from your home. One place that fleas like to stay and breed is in your carpeting. Did you know that you can get rid of fleas in your carpet with a flea collar? The method to get rid of fleas in carpeting with a flea collar is rather simple, but very effective. It’s a great way to save money as well.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Several flea collars
  • Vacuum Cleaner
  1. Step 1

    Locate the room that you have fleas in your carpet. Hopefully, it’s not all the carpets in your home.

  2. Step 2

    Purchase a cat flea collar or a dog flea collar.

  3. Step 3

    Open the flea collar and tug on both ends. This will release the flea powder that is in the flea collar.

  4. Step 4

    Place the flea collar inside the dirt or dust receiver on your vacuum cleaner.

  5. Step 5

    Vacuum your carpeting with a fast sweeping motion.

  6. Step 6

    Repeat again, vacuuming your carpet with a slow sweeping motion.

  7. Step 7

    Set your vacuum cleaner outside and repeat vacuum again 24 hours later.

  8. Step 8

    Remove the canister or compartment that holds the dirt and dust. Empty into an appropriate waste receptacle and place in your outside trash can.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use either a cat or dog flea collar.
  • If fleas are really bad, you can dust your carpet with flea powder and then vacuum several minutes later to get rid of flea problems.

on 5/27/2009 This works! I have done this to get rid of fleas. I have also cut up flea collars and stuck them under furniture. Great advice
