Step 1
Assign Numbers to Letters. Only the numbers 1-9 are used in numerology. All information must be translated into numerical value and reduced to one of these nine numbers. In the figure alphabet, each letter in the alphabet is assigned a number. Write the numbers 1 through 9 on the top of a piece of paper. Write the alphabet under these numbers and when you get to the 10th letter (J) start at the beginning under number 1. Continue through letter z. Click on the image to the left to see an example.

Step 2
Assign Your Name a Number. Write out your name. Use the figure alphabet developed in step one to assign each letter in your name a number. Add up all the numbers. Reduce this number by adding the digits together until you end up with a single digit number. For example, suppose you add up your name and get 88. Add up the digits (8+8=16) until you get a single digit number (1+6=7). A name totaling 88 would have a name number of 7. Click image to the left to see George Washington’s name number.

Determine Number Personality. Each number is given different significance. Use the link in the resource section below to find the significance of your name number. In general, 1 is the number of initiative, 2 signifies balance, 3 represents versatility, 4 symbolizes stability, 5 shows adventure, 6 embodies dependability, 7 indicates mystery, 8 translate to success, and 9 illustrates achievement.
