If you've downloaded a movie on your hard drive or uploaded one from your camcorder, Roxio is an easy to use program to burn a movie. Once you burn movies, you will be able to watch the movies in your DVD player. This is a great way to save family movies that you make and get to watch them after you burn movies using Roxio.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blank DVD
  • DVD Burner
  • Roxio DVD Creator Software
  • Sharpie
  • DVD Cover or Holder
  1. Step 1

Open up the program Roxio on your computer.

  2. Step 2

Locate the movie you want to burn from your computer.

  3. Step 3

Open the disc copier in Roxio.

  4. Step 4

Click Disc Image or DVD Video Folder radio button

  5. Step 5

Open the folder that has the movie to burn to DVD.

  6. Step 6

On the right hand side, select the destination. The destination is your DVD Burner.

  7. Step 7

For the write speed, most people select 16X. Roxio will only burn a DVD as fast as your computer is able to process it. It's fine to set it at max speed.

  8. Step 8

Next, click the copy radio button (located to the right of the write speed radio button)

  9. Step 9

Select the number of copies of the DVD that you want to burn. If you want to share the DVD with another family member to show off your family movies, go ahead and select 2 or 3 for the number of copies of the DVD you burn.

  10. Step 10

Once you have all that set up on the Roxio screen, you're ready to burn a DVD. In the top right hand corner, you click the little circle that looks like a DVD. It will change color.

  11. Step 11

When you DVD is done burning, the DVD writer should open up. You are now ready to label your DVD to share your family movies.

Tips & Warnings
  • I personally recommend that you use plus R DVD for your DVD burning of home movies or movies on your hard drive.
  • Remember to only burn movie copies of movies you have copyright license to do so. Burning movies that are copyrighted is illegal.
