Zinc is found in fortified cereal, red meats and seafood.

2
Use a liquid or powder nutritional supplement if nothing else. There are many supplements on the market.

3
Take a multivitamin to meet the daily nutrition requirements.

4
Avoid prolonged pressure to the wound. If an open wound is on the coccyx for example, make sure to keep off the area as much as possible. Rotate from side to side when lying down.
-
5
Use devices such as pressure reduction cushions and mattresses. Most have pressure point relief features to aid in prevention of pressure ulcers and wounds.
-
6
Take a sitz bath. Depending on where the wound is, a sitz bath is a great way to promote wound healing by sitting in a tub partially filled with warm water for a short period of time.
