How to make Light Feijoada

For those who like Brazilian food, this is a lighter and healthier version, of this typical Brazilian dish.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 table spoon of olive oil
  • 500g of black beans
  • 1kg of chicken sausage
  • 1kg of ribs
  • 500g of smoked chicken breast
  • A big chopped onion
  • 4 chopped cloves of garlic
  • Salt
  1. Step 1

    Choose the beans and wash them more than once, put them in a pressure cooker with enough water to cover them and bring it to cook until it gets soft. Reserve.

  2. Step 2

    Put salt and garlic on the ribs, fry them, add a little bit of water and leave it cooking for about 40min. or until they get soft.

  3. Step 3

    Fry the sausage and the chicken in hot oil. Reserve.

  4. Step 4

    On the olive oil, fry the onion until it get light brown, add the beans, with the stock, the ribs, the sausage and the chicken, leave it boiling until the stock get thick.

  5. Step 5

    There is no person in the world who resists a good feijoada. The black-bean, the meat and accompaniments help make this dish one of the greatest symbols of our kitchen. Do you wanna prove? So don't waste time and make this dish just wonderful.

Tips & Warnings
  • Serve it with white rice and sliced orange and pineapple. A good tip to cook the rice is fry it with salt and garlic before add boil water on it or fry it in a pan without oil, and then add the water.
  • Check each 15min if the beans and the meat are cooked, if you need add more water and get it to cook a little bit more.
