Things You'll Need:
- Phillips head screwdriver
-
Step 1
Unplug your machine before you begin any job to prevent the possibility of electrical shock.
-
Step 2
Grasp the front edge of the top of your machine and simply lift up. No tools are required. The top is hinged at the back and will lift up like a clam shell. Lift all the way up and rest the lid on the wall behind the machine.
-
Step 3
Locate the two Phillips screws on the top inside edge of the front panel. There is one screw at each corner of the top of the front panel on the inside of the machine. Remove these screws and keep them safe.
-
Step 4
Tip the front panel toward you just a little and then wiggle it slightly and lift up. The panel will pull up until it clears to J-shaped clips near the bottom of the panel.
-
Step 5
Replace the panel by slipping the bottom edge of the new panel into the two "J" clips near the bottom of the panel with the front cover tilted just slightly toward you.
-
Step 6
Once the bottom of the panel has been slipped into the bottom "J" clips simply push the top of panel away from you until it is fitted securely in place.
-
Step 7
Screw the two Phillips screws into the holes at the top of the inside corners of the panel and then lower the top back down into place. Plug your machine mach in. You have now removed and replaced the front panel on your Maytag washer.
