Foam Stamps

There are two basic types of stamps used when making arts and crafts projects. They are rubber stamps and foam stamps. Each of these stamps does a great job, but they must be cleaned in different manners. Rubber stamps tend to last longer than foam stamps and can be easier to clean. Foam stamps are cheaper to purchase and are great when you have a bunch of children who want to create some projects at the same time.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Foam stamps
  • Baby wipes
  • Clear stamp cleaner
  • Stamp scrubber pad
  1. Step 1

Wipe off the bottom of the foam stamp with a baby wipe after you have finished with each color. For example, if you used a foam heart stamp with red ink five times and then wanted to switch to pink ink, wipe it off first.

  2. Step 2

Spray one side of a stamp scrubber pad with some clear stamp cleaner.

  3. Step 3

Rub your foam stamp back and forth over the scrubber pad on the side that has the cleaner.

  4. Step 4

Turn the scrubber pad over and rub the stamp on the dry side to get it dry and ready to be used again.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can spray the cleaner directly on the stamp and then wipe dry with a paper towel if you don't have a scrubber pad.
  • Not properly cleaning your stamps will allow previous colors to show up on your craft project.
